About Tradewinds Brief

What we are

Tradewinds Brief is an independent decision-intelligence publication for the Caribbean and African diasporas. We cover sixteen countries with equal weight — twelve in the Caribbean, four in Africa — and we publish for readers who navigate two countries at once: the one they live in, and the one they came from or are returning to.

We are not a media company. We are a publication built around recurring diaspora decisions: where to retire, how to send money home, when to return, whether to buy property, how to move family. The news we publish is signal acquisition for those decisions.

What we publish

  • Today’s Signal — the day’s most consequential cross-border story, with its decision implications drawn out
  • Money & Movement — FX corridors, remittance dynamics, costs, taxes, and the financial weather of moving value between two countries
  • Opportunity — diaspora-investor angles, bonds, citizenship, real estate, and openings most outlets bury
  • Returning Home — the practical and emotional architecture of going back
  • Family & Community — heritage, calendars, gathering, continuity
  • Crossfire — daily sports duel with character voices
  • The Backpage — cartoons, sports humour, short Caribbean dispatches
  • Sunday Intelligence — deeper analytical reads each Sunday

Why we exist

The diaspora is not a market segment. It is a way of carrying two countries inside one life. Our job is to give that life better information.
