Your guide to Tradewinds Brief

Abigail Singh is the on-screen voice of Tradewinds Brief. She presents the Daily Three-Minute Brief Monday through Saturday and the Sunday Africa Diaspora Brief on Sundays. Her job is to walk the reader through the day’s most consequential cross-border story and what it means for diaspora households.

How the brief works

The video brief is a three-minute synthesis of what’s worth knowing today. It runs on the homepage as the sixth pillar of The Five Decisions tile grid. Open the dialog, watch, close. No autoplay on cold loads.

The Sunday Africa Diaspora Brief is shorter — ninety seconds — and focuses on the four African countries we cover.

Production

Abigail is built with a HeyGen avatar and ElevenLabs voice, with rendering by Nexgen. The reason we use this production pipeline is editorial reliability: it lets us deliver a daily three-minute presentation on a publication budget, with consistent production values, without depending on a single human’s availability.

The script is editorial. The avatar is delivery infrastructure.

Standing open and close

Abigail opens every Caribbean daily brief with: “Hello. I’m Abigail Singh, your TWB news anchor. Here is your Trade Winds Brief daily Pan-Caribbean brief.” Sunday’s Africa edition opens with “weekly Africa Diaspora brief.”

Every brief closes with: “That’s your Trade Winds Brief. Full reporting at trade winds brief dot com.”

The publication’s name is spelled out in the audio as three words: Trade Winds Brief.
