Albert Massay is the founder and publisher of The Tradewinds Brief, a practical diaspora briefing site focused on useful information for people navigating where they are — and where they came from.

He began writing professionally in 1990 at the Guyana Public Communications Agency, and in the decades since his work has grown to span news, children’s books, fiction, and original intellectual property. Today he develops those projects through Hatchling Media, the studio he founded.

His children’s work centers on Caribbean middle-grade fiction, including the Speedeet & Wilar series and other stories written for young readers across the diaspora — books built so children at home and abroad can share the same worlds, characters, and sense of place.

The Tradewinds Brief grew out of a simple idea: people living between two countries deserve clear, useful guidance on the decisions that actually shape their lives — money, movement, family, property, and returning home. The site covers sixteen countries across the Caribbean and Africa with equal weight, and reads every story for what it means in practice, not just what happened.

The Tradewinds Brief is a publisher-led editorial desk operated by Albert Massay, drawing on contributors, advisers, research tools, and editorial systems to produce practical diaspora briefings readers can act on.
