OECS Opens 45th-Anniversary Year With Free-Movement 'Contingent Rights' Push

The Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States launched its 45th-anniversary year from Castries with a programme based in Antigua and Barbuda, headlined by a Contingent Rights webinar teaching citizens their rights to live, work and travel freely across member states, plus an OECS Colours Day on June 18. Free movement is the practical core of OECS integration.

For diaspora families with roots across several Eastern Caribbean islands, contingent rights are decision-relevant: they shape where you can relocate, work and access services without immigration friction. The anniversary push is a reminder that intra-OECS mobility is a benefit many eligible people still under-use.
