Bahamasair restores Cat Island flights after two-decade absence

1 min read

Bahamasair has relaunched scheduled service to Cat Island for the first time in more than twenty years, with Prime Minister Philip Davis marking the resumption at Arthur’s Town. Flights between Nassau and Cat Island will run twice weekly, on Thursdays and Sundays, a connection officials say should help small hotels, taxi operators and entrepreneurs on an island long constrained by limited airlift. The relaunch arrives as the country moves into its Independence season ahead of the July 10 celebrations, a stretch when Family Island access and diaspora travel both pick up.
