Belize Drafts Its First National Migration Policy, Diaspora Included
Following nationwide consultations with UNDP and IOM support, Belize is drafting its first-ever National Migration and Development Policy. Officials say the framework will cover not only inbound migrants but Belizeans emigrating and the diaspora abroad, with a first draft expected by September or October.
What this means for you: if you are a Belizean abroad, this is the moment to press for concrete return, reintegration and investment provisions while the policy is still being written.
