Belize Takes the Caribbean Development Bank Chair and Lands BZ$20.2M Climate Grant
Belize has assumed the chairmanship of the Caribbean Development Bank’s Board of Governors and, at the bank’s 56th meeting, secured BZ$20.2 million in grant financing to strengthen climate resilience and disaster preparedness. The role places Belize at the centre of regional development-finance decisions for the coming year. The grant is earmarked for resilience work ahead of the Atlantic hurricane season.
What this means for you: the chairmanship gives Belize more say over regional lending priorities that affect infrastructure and disaster recovery across the membership.
