Dominica Pushes Geothermal Power and a New International Airport to Diversify Its Economy

1 min read

Dominica is advancing a new international airport and geothermal energy development as anchors of an economy that grew an estimated 4.6% in 2024 on the back of tourism and Citizenship by Investment revenues. Tourism arrivals have moved past pre-pandemic levels, though officials acknowledge that food security and exposure to volatile CBI inflows remain concerns. The projects aim to widen the island’s economic base.

What this means for you: a working international airport and home-grown geothermal power would lower two of Dominica’s biggest long-run costs — access and energy.
