Dominica breaks ground on Soufriere wetlands-and-sanitation project
Work has begun in Soufriere, Dominica, on small in-stream wetlands and septic-tank installations under the EU-funded BioSPACE Project, a quiet piece of environmental and public-health infrastructure coordinated through the OECS. The effort sits within Dominica’s broader blue-economy push, which has also seen the OECS Commission and the Caribbean Biodiversity Fund run training to lift the island’s sea-moss industry to international food-safety standards. For an island that markets itself on its natural environment, projects like these are the unglamorous backbone of keeping that brand credible.
