Grenada's Mitchell presses CARICOM to speed up its digital and AI agenda
Grenada’s Prime Minister Dickon Mitchell, who leads on science and technology in the CARICOM Quasi Cabinet, has called for urgent regional cooperation to accelerate digital transformation, warning that small states risk being left at the margins of the global digital economy. Speaking at a meeting of CARICOM ICT ministers themed “Accelerating Digital Development to 2030,” he pushed for faster work on the Single ICT Space, shared cybersecurity, AI governance and digital-skills development. The appeal ties Grenada’s domestic modernisation to a broader regional bet that coordinated action can keep the Caribbean competitive.
