Jamaica's GAINS Programme Targets AI Certification in Every Constituency

The Government of Jamaica announced GAINS, a national workforce initiative backed by roughly J$545 million to deliver AI certification into every constituency. Framed by Prime Minister Andrew Holness as part of a “cultural revolution” toward faster, more productive work, it is a bet that basic AI fluency becomes a mainstream jobs credential. For the diaspora, the read is practical: Jamaica is trying to build a locally certified talent base rather than import the skill.
