Kenya launches a digital-jobs drive to link youth to global outsourcing work
Kenya’s Ministry of Information, Communications and the Digital Economy has launched a Digital Outsourcing Jobs initiative aimed at equipping young people with market-relevant digital skills and connecting them to global outsourcing opportunities, building on existing Ajira Digital and Jitume platforms. President William Ruto has tied the push to a broader workforce-productivity agenda, citing South Korea and Singapore as models for human-capital-led growth. The programme is part of the government’s effort to position Kenya as a regional hub for IT and business-process services as it confronts persistent youth unemployment.
