Jamaica’s 11th Biennial Diaspora Conference runs June 14-18 at the Montego Bay Convention Centre, with June 16 set aside as Diaspora Day — a day of service. This year’s theme, “Diaspora Partnerships: Rebuilding a more climate-resilient Jamaica,” points squarely at Hurricane Melissa recovery. The planning committee, chaired by JN Group’s Earl Jarrett, is targeting a turnout above the last edition’s 1,000-plus.

Why it matters for you: this is the best in-person window of the year to turn goodwill into concrete commitments — recovery partnerships, investment introductions, skills transfer — with ministers and agencies in one building.

Practical read: registration is open through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade. If you’re going to do business rather than mingle, arrive with one specific ask and one thing you can offer, and show up for Diaspora Day — the service component is the credibility move.
