St Kitts and Nevis is positioning a new cruise terminal to make the federation a Caribbean home-porting hub, where ships begin and end voyages rather than merely calling for the day. Home-porting typically lifts local spending on flights, hotels and provisioning well above transit-passenger levels. For a small tourism economy, and for the diaspora who staff and supply that sector, the distinction is where real revenue lives.
