St Kitts hits 70% reliable water supply, up from 20% in 2022
Prime Minister Terrance Drew says investments in water infrastructure have expanded reliable 24-hour supply to roughly 70 percent of Saint Kitts, up from just over 20 percent when his administration took office in 2022, in what he calls a direct response to mounting climate-driven water scarcity. The progress, delivered through exploratory drilling and new works under the Water Services Department, sits alongside a 2026 budget themed around people-centred development and economic diversification. Drew framed water security as one of his government’s earliest and most consequential priorities for long-term resilience.
