Saint Lucia's Pierre Takes CARICOM Chair, Vows Results Over Rhetoric
Prime Minister Philip J. Pierre assumed the rotating chairmanship of CARICOM on July 1, serving through December, and framed his term around delivering concrete results on food security, climate action and regional integration. He has argued many of the bloc’s frictions can ease “by just talking to each other,” a pointed note amid recent tensions with Trinidad and Tobago’s leadership. The chair sets the regional agenda diaspora institutions engage with all year.
