Grenada’s inaugural Diaspora Homecoming runs 21 June to 5 July, timed to school holidays and the lead-up to Spice Mas. It is more than a reunion: there is a National Investment and Business Forum across tourism, agriculture, renewable energy, technology and real estate, professional networking sessions, an awards gala — and, on 28 June, a Spice Replanting Day to restore nutmeg and spice trees devastated by Hurricane Beryl.

There is also a concrete, often-overlooked perk: Grenadians who have lived abroad for at least seven years are entitled to a 100% duty-free concession on personal effects brought back to the island.

What this means for you: If you are Grenadian abroad and have toyed with returning, investing or simply reconnecting, the next three weeks are built for exactly that — with a government actively trying to convert goodwill into participation. If a permanent or part-time return is on your horizon, confirm the seven-year duty-free concession with the relevant ministry before you ship anything; used correctly it can save thousands on a relocation.
