Colorado State University’s June update eased the 2026 Atlantic outlook, yet one major storm can still redefine a season, as 2025’s Hurricane Melissa showed in Jamaica. For diaspora households with property or family across the region, the least expensive preparation, supplies, document copies, and an insurance review, happens now, well before any system is named. Early action costs the least and matters most.
