The Naira Holds Near ₦1,360 Official as the Street Gap Narrows
The naira sits near ₦1,360 official and ₦1,400 parallel, the tightest spread in years.
On June 15 the naira traded around ₦1,364 to the dollar in the official market and near ₦1,397 in the parallel market, a spread of roughly ₦33, far tighter than the wide gaps of recent years. For Nigerian diaspora senders, a narrower spread means fewer surprises between the rate quoted and the rate a recipient actually gets, and a steadier basis for deciding when to send.
