The OECS Marks 45 Years With a ‘One Vision, One Voice’ Service Campaign
The Eastern Caribbean bloc leans on shared institutions as it confronts energy, climate and digital pressures.
The Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States is marking its 45th anniversary under the theme “One Vision, One Voice,” reflecting on a 1981 bet that small territories achieve more together than apart. Over four and a half decades the bloc has built institutions — a shared currency, a common court, joint procurement — and delivered services many citizens use without naming the source. Director General Didacus Jules has framed the moment around being “system smart” in the face of economic uncertainty, climate vulnerability and geopolitical shifts. A “45 for 45” volunteer campaign invites nationals at home and in the diaspora to take part.
