London and Accra have signed a UK–Ghana Growth Partnership pairing new economic-cooperation channels with a strengthened migration partnership, following a Downing Street meeting between President Mahama and the UK prime minister. Bundling trade with legal-migration arrangements is the emerging template for Africa–Europe deals. For the Ghanaian diaspora, the migration track is the clause with the most direct personal effect. Whether the “partnership” framing survives contact with visa politics is the thing to watch.
