Full free movement is now operational among Barbados, Belize, Dominica and St Vincent and the Grenadines, granting nationals rights to reside, work and access public services across the four states. Prime Minister Mia Mottley has argued the region simply lacks the population to develop in isolation. The shift reframes how Caribbean labour, skills and families move — and it sits uneasily beside the same week’s crackdown on undocumented workers elsewhere, a tension the diaspora will feel firsthand.
