West Indies Clinch T20I Series 2-1 Over Sri Lanka as Holder and Joseph Seal the Sabina Park Decider

West Indies took the three-match T20I series 2-1 against Sri Lanka, sealing it in the June 14 decider at Sabina Park, Kingston, with a five-wicket win and two balls to spare. Alzarri Joseph’s five-wicket haul and a Jason Holder finish closed out a contest that captain Shai Hope’s side controlled in the back half. Holder had earlier set the tone in the opener with 3 for 18, and Hope anchored that chase with an unbeaten 65.

Coach Daren Sammy praised the team’s “thoughtful and smart cricket” in a series win that gave home crowds something to celebrate after the rain-hit ODI leg.

Attention now turns to the two-Test series at North Sound from June 25, part of the World Test Championship — the format where West Indies’ rebuild faces its sterner examination.
